Description
Mid-forties singer/songwriter/guitarist/bassist looking for writing and recording collaboration. Mainly interested in writing songs, recording, and promoting releases online (e.g. MP3 sales, streaming, making music videos, etc.) Spent most of the '90s playing in the Dayton, Ohio music scene that spawned Brainiac, Guided By Voices, Kim Deal, etc. Got completely burnt out on gigging by 2010. Experimenting in a home studio has always been more interesting to me.
A few influences: Beachwood Sparks, The Beatles, Beck, Black Moth Super Rainbow, The Church, The Doors, Gong (when Daevid Allen fronted), King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, The Sundays, etc.
I'm interested in writing well-crafted songs that combine guitars and synths. Also interested in a reciprocal collaborative process where songwriting credits are split equally.
Devoted to the DIY ethic. I've been home-recording since 1992. Sound quality, clarity, layers, texture, and headphone enjoyment are all important to me in regards to audio production. Simple Pro Tools setup in a small space.
I'd like to get together on a weekly basis for a few hours of crafting songs and recording (maybe more often if something takes off). Just need one or two others to generate inspiration, bounce ideas around, and help move the process forward. Potentially compatible with other music lovers who are bright and creative/artistic. I'm liberal and vaccinated, and I want to work with others who have a similar worldview.
If you want to collaborate with someone who has a real passion for songwriting and recording, I may be a match.
