Description
We are looking for a few folks who are excited to interact with guests and learn about boats to join our team! Training is paid and available, experience is preferred. We operate sightseeing and meal cruises on five vessels, you would be an important part to many special days and memories. JOB DESCRIPTION: Vessel engineer experience preferred. Previous maintenance experience preferred. Pre-employment drug screen & random D.O.T. drug testing schedule required. Flexible schedule for day, early mornings, evenings, late nights, weekends & holidays. DIRECT RESPONSIBILITIES: Complete Portland Spirit Senior Deckhand & Engineering training Reports to & carries out the directives of the Captain Delegates, instructs & assists deck crew in the execution of said directives Possess knowledge of all boat engines & mechanical equipment aboard the vessel you are responsible for. Act as sing leader in emergency response Possess thorough knowledge of the location and use of all safety equipment on board and emergency response of all crew (including food & beverage, bar, and galley) Capable of thinking clearly and performing while under pressure Demonstrate good leadership ability, able to prevent & take charge of chaotic situations Good public relation skills Maintain preventive maintenance schedules to AWI standards Capable of troubleshooting & initiating basic repairs onboard equipment, ensuring your vessel Is in good repair. Oversee & work with contractors Able to work under the direction of others as well as manage others and/or work alone Present crew evaluation critiquing the performance of the deck crew Ensure the vessel is clean, safe & ready for passengers SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Power tool knowledge Basic maintenance skills preferred. Carpentry, plumbing & electrical Marine diesel engine experience preferred TWIC certification or obtainment of certification required upon hire. CPR training Properly fill out all engineering paperwork and logs Assist with weekly & monthly preventative schedule is completed to A.W.I.
