Description

Howdy, so I'm a 28 yr old dude that pretends to play guitar. I'm very 420 friendly, super serious about being in a band and looking for some like minded, chill people who want to make some music. I don't have a practice space, unfortunately. I work an 8am-5pm job during the week, so any time after and including weekends works for me. I'm looking to eventually play gigs, record, and maybe tour a little. Im in a crossover thrash band, playing bass, called Practical Gore. However, I want something way different in addition to my bass duties. I'm not interested at all in joining up in an existing project, unless it's something like what I'm going to try my best to explain lol. Have you ever wondered what My Bloody Valentine would sound in Drop A# tuning, more gain and some screaming sometimes? Me too. What if you combined the super, melodic/repetitive riffs of Hum and Neurosis and somehow combined it all with some Midwestern emo? Me fucking too, dude. I'm looking for something at the intersection of high gain, repetitive riffs with some dreamy, shoegazey and maybe a lil Midwestern-esque interludes. Maybe there's a layer of shoegazey modulation on top of those high gain riffs I've mentioned a few times now. And some droning textures a la Sunn O))), or the abrasive electronic layers of power electronics like Ramleh or Hunting Lodge. Does any of that make sense to you? If so, you should message me and we can figure this out. Tell me what instrument you play, and some bands you like! I'm a music nerd and my tastes are all over the place, I'm the type of dude who'd talk to people all day at the record store. Or even talk gear or something with me, I don't care. Bands I like are: Pink Floyd, Type O Negative, Neurosis, Rosetta, Unwound, Isis, Hum, My Bloody Valentine, Electric Wizard, Caspian, Stone Temple Pilots, Pg 99, Lush, Slint, Slowdive, Yob, Thou, Eyehategod, Sunn O))), Hunting Lodge, Ramleh, and Sunny Day Real Estate. The list goes on, but this is enough for now probably. All I ask is that you're serious about making music, you have some bands in common with me and you're not a dick. I've met some cool people on here, but I've met some racists, homophobes, and transphobes and I don't want to be associated with unnecessary hatred. If I'm going to be in a band with someone I'd at least like to agree on basic human rights for everyone. I shouldn't even have to put a disclaimer but I've came across too many people just pooping out of their mouth and it's not for me.
