The Outreach Ensemble of Women In Harmony We are delighted to be presenting a concert, even during a global pandemic, to celebrate the power of music and community! The Outreach Ensemble is a subgroup of Women in Harmony, formed in 2014, to meet the need in the community for smaller, on-site performances requested on short notice. Our selections are mostly taken from Women in Harmony’s a cappella repertoire. You will hear music ranging from pieces by John David, Peggy Seeger, Eric Whitacre, and songs as sung by the Wailin’ Jennys, Libana and more. The group has performed at many special events for non-profits in the area including Natural Resources Council of Maine, Vigil for Victims of Gun Violence, Cumberland County Master Gardeners, Children’s Museum of Maine, Dempsey Centers, Opportunity Alliance Volunteers as well as local churches, libraries and assisted living communities. Women in Harmony began in 1993 with a small group of energetic and committed women! Today WiH is a vibrant feminist chorus of approximately 60 members working together for unity among women. The group is dedicated to both musical excellence and social justice. Arts & Cultural Alliance of Freeport's mission is to foster arts and culture in the community through collaboration, increased opportunities, and improved access. We invite you to enjoy this event and the many and varied other arts and cultural activities available in Freeport, Pownal, and Durham, Maine.
