27 January, 2022

Description

Come explore the Civil War history of northeastern Kentucky! Free and open to the public. Northeastern Kentucky is rarely seen as a nexus of military activity during the Civil War. But Carter County has its share of war history, including military or paramilitary engagements, local enmity caused by political sympathies, and contribution to the war effort, especially that of the Union. All these and much more will be considered at this event. Some items of interest for this region in the Civil War era will also be displayed. This event is free and open to the public. It has been put on by a joint effort of the Carter County Historical Society, Olive Hill Historical Society, and the Kentucky Christian University History Deparment.
