Join us for our monthly Wonder Girls Volunteer Day where we bring together a community of young girls to educate and empower. Join WONDER GIRLS, for our monthly VOLUNTEER DAY at BRIDGES located at the Palisades Center Mall Nyack Center in Rockland County on Thursday, February 10th at 4pm. **Please note that Bridges is located next to Autobahn and above Best Buy. This event is open to girls in middle and high school. Girls under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent/ guardian. Space is limited to 15 girls. Must wear masks. BRIDGES is a community-based, peer-driven, cross-disability, not-for-profit organization dedicated to advocacy and leadership on behalf of people with disabilities. Today our Wonder Girls will attend "In Our Shoes," hosted by BRIDGES, an interactive series of exercises that allows our girls to begin to understand what it feels like living with a disability. The girls will be provided a variety of devices including a wheelchair, cane, walker, mental health audio device, blindfold etc, and go through various 'real-life' scenarios to see how their everyday lives would be impacted. They will learn about BRIDGES and the services they provide our community as well as meet others with disabilities. Space is limited. Masks are required. Please note that this event will be photographed and promoted via social media and on the Wonder Girls website and newsletter.
