Join us during the KBT Conference to attend the annual KACERS business meeting. The first half of the meeting will be a presentation (PDH).
This presentation will be an overview of Concrete Bonded to Asphalt, Full Depth Reclamation of Asphalt Pavements and RCC for two lane roads. Concrete Overlays have been around since 1926. However, in just the last few years, with FHWA support, this technology is trending steeply up Nationally. The Bluegrass Parkway Overlay project in Hardin County will be highlighted. Full depth reclamation is taking off like wildfire as a sustainable, cost effective solution for failing asphalt pavements. Benson Pike FDR in Shelby County will be highlighted. Roller Compacted Concrete is a heavy duty pavement alternative for roads with soft sub base. Also, technical resources and design assistance needed for successful projects will be presented.
The Technology Transfer Program of the Kentucky Transporation Center bridges the gap between training and information needs and tight budgets for Kentucky transportation agencies. It can provide workshops and training events, how-to manuals, expert advice, legislative and regulatory news, on-site technical assistance and access to the only transportation library in the Commonwealth.
