Doors open at 8:30 AM for coffee + networking, program begins at 9:00 AM.  We will be meeting at the Purdue Technology Center NWI, 9800 Connecticut Drive, Crown Point, IN 46307 This week's presenting entrepreneur is Dan Durochik, co-founder of Alert Lift LLC. Dan resides in St. John Indiana with his wife Betty of 35 years. They have two grown adult daughters, a German Shepherd Dog, two rescue cats, two rescue ‘grand-dogs’, and two rescue ‘grand-cats’. Dan graduated from Purdue University Calumet in 1986 with Bachelor of Science degree in Management with a major in Marketing. Dan has been in the real estate industry full-time since 1986 holding various positions including sales, marketing, office and general management, and C-Suite executive leadership roles for two of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana’s largest real estate firms. Dan retired from his most recent real estate leadership position in May 2021 to form a real estate sales team, and to focus on his new venture Alert Lift LLC. About Alert Lift Alert Lift LLC, based in St. John, Indiana, was founded by Dan and Betty Durochik to develop and engineer a live-saving enhancement to the typical overhead garage door opener. There have been no significant consumer safety enhancements made to the residential garage door opener since the auto-reversing sensor which was nationally legislated as a mandatory feature in 1993. Currently there is no commercially available product that specifically addresses carbon monoxide (CO) within a garage. Typical household CO detectors are not designed for a garage setting. Our patent-pending product, the Alert Lift LS1, is an overhead garage door opener motor unit that has a fully integrated modular CO detector. When the unit detects a certain toxic level of CO, the unit is triggered to automatically open the overhead garage door to simultaneously alert any occupants and then ventilate the garage of the CO
