Wine Tasting event hosted by Andrew Spence, Advanced Certified Sommelier, paired with food prepared by Chef Jess Deguzman
The month’s wine tasting will be focused on the best of Spain. We will take a comprehensive look at the Rioja (La Rioja), Priorat DOQ (Catalonia), Ribera del Duero DO (Castilla y León), Rueda DO (Castilla y León), Toro DO (Castilla-La Mancha), and Cava (Pais Vasco/ Catalonia / La Rioja / Aragon / Valencia. We will start the evening taking a deep look at Cava, Spain’s nod to Champagne and the method practiced in Spain to achieve one of the world’s best sparkling wines. We will then taste and talk about wines from the other growing regions and their similarities to wines grown in Napa and Sonoma. Last, we will compare and contrast the cost of great Spanish wine vs the rest of the world and it’s ability to pair well with food.
