Are you interested in learning more about your old home? Are you interested in learning more about your old home? Volunteer Becky Barton will introduce some of the resources available at the Historical Society of Cheshire County and elsewhere in the region. Attendees should prepare for this free informational session by documenting what they know about their old house. First: write down everything you know about your house and where the information came from. Things like name of last owner, house number, close by landmarks, ponds, brooks, old cemeteries etc. Second: come to the workshop for more local resources, HSCC, Registry of Deeds, Ancestry.com. Third: bring a pencil and paper for notes and there will a resource list handout! The Historical Society of Cheshire County provides 160 programs per year to make history come alive for people of all ages. The Historical Society of Cheshire County headquarters are located at 246 Main Street in Keene, New Hampshire, as well as the Wyman Tavern period house museum, built in 1762.
