Please attend and bid on wonderful art for a great cause our beloved Laurel Street Park.
The Belhaven Garden Club and the Friends of Laurel Street Park are gearing up for the beloved
biannual event, Art for the Park. The event will be Thursday, March 31st at the Fairview Inn.
The featured artist this year is Ginger Williams Cook. This event is the only fundraiser for Laurel
Street Park which is a haven for families here in the center of our community.
Art for the Park 2019 raised over $20,000 for the Park which will be used to construct a concrete
walkway/drive around the play area to help define the space and to create a path to the pavilion
from Laurel Street once creek construction ends. An emergency call button and security
cameras were also installed and hooked up to the JPD Command Center to provide further
security.
The Friends of Laurel Street Park have plans to use the 2022 funds for maintenance and
upkeep. The Park serves as meeting place for moms, children, students, families, churches,
etc. throughout our community.
