Press release from the City of Wauwatosa: 01/05/2022 11:59 AM We're collecting feedback about remodeling the Wauwatosa Library and City Hall in their existing location to better serve the public Several years ago, the Common Council discussed changing the City Hall campus and moving the services currently located at 7725 W North Avenue to another location in Wauwatosa. The Council decided to keep the Library, City Hall, and Civic Center space at the current building into the foreseeable future. While we have updated or renovated several City buildings over the past few decades, City Hall has been left behind and the space layout is less than ideal. If we used our square footage more efficiently, our footprint could be smaller. Meanwhile, the Library does not have enough space and has an inefficient layout. It's important to know that this project is not included in the capital budget. This is a conceptual planning exercise, and work is not budgeted in the near future. These decisions would be discussed at future public meetings. To prepare for the future, we are conducting a space needs assessment for the building in partnership with OPN Architects. We'd like your feedback about how you use the space at the Wauwatosa Library and City Hall. Please join the architects for opportunities to give your feedback on the following dates: Thursday, January 13, 5:00 – 7:00 pm, virtual session on Zoom Link to Zoom meeting: https://opnarchitects.zoom.us/j/81416136783?pwd=OXpSVnp3UHZsdzk2Zmxhb3B0TXg1QT09 Meeting ID: 814 1613 6783 Passcode: 205724 Saturday, January 15, 10:00 am – Noon – Lower Civic Center at City Hall, 7725 W North Avenue You can also take this brief online survey through January 24, 2022.
