Updated at 7 a.m. YONKERS, NY — Due to heavy snowfall expected to impact the region overnight and into Friday morning, schools and community organizations are implementing severe weather plans. Westchester Schools: Closings, Delays, Remote Friday UPDATE Even though students ween't reporting to classrooms this week in Yonkers schools, teachers were working from the schools. The decision was made to cancel classes A two-hour delay on Friday, Jan. 7, was initially announced by the district to allow staff to make it to work safely as a snowstorm bears down on the Hudson Valley. Schools that begin at 7:30 a.m will begin remote instruction at 9:30 a.m. Schools that begin at 8:30 a.m will begin remote instruction at 10:30 a.m.
