You are invited to audition (tenor/lead needed most) for a semi-professional five-voice a cappella doo wop group. Bill Schlanger: Bill Schlanger is an a cappella doo wop bass who has sung on stage and in records from the sixties era in Brooklyn. OUR VISION -We sing because we love to get together to sing. We charge for performances much of the time. -We sing doo wop songs nearly entirely by ear/rote. We sometimes use words and chords, but no written scores. This is a unique musical experience. -At least five singers required to hold a practice. Can take up to 5 alternates (learn full set in our style) for redundancy. -Practices near the ASU/Sky Harbor area most weeks for about 2 hours. We can reduce practice frequency once we know 25 songs. -Performances throughout the year centered on a ticketed show in the Spring and the Fall with the first to happen Fall 2022 or possibly Spring 2022 -We will audition these seven easy songs: --Duke of Earl (Gene Chandler "Dukays") --At The Hop (Danny and the Juniors) --Come Go With Me (Del-Vikings) --Teenager In Love (Dion and the Belmonts) --'Til Then (Classics) --Book of Love (Monotones) --Barbara Ann (words provided; Regents) We will be holding auditions at Scottsdale Shadows.
