Video: Firefighters Move Into New $13M Reston Fire Station

RESTON, VA — Fire personnel from Reston Station 25's A-Shift spent Thursday moving from their temporary home at 1840 Cameron Glen Drive to the newly built station house on Wiehle Avenue. Firefighters relocated to their temporary digs in January 2020. The previous station was demolished to make way for the new facility that was financed by a $13 million bond referendum Fairfax voters approved in 2015. The larger, two-level fire station has four drive-through apparatus bays and was originally slated to open last summer. During Thursday's move, A-Shift continued to respond to calls. County employees and contractors were also on hand to help with the relocation. Fairfax County Fire & Rescue released a YouTube video documenting moving day.
