Description

Press release from Beverly Public School District: January 6, 2022 Dear Parent/Guardian: "This letter serves as general information on where to find school cancelations during inclement weather. School is canceled for Friday, January 7th, 2022, and offices are closed. It is that time of year again when we will be dealing with inclement weather. With a challenging forecast for this evening and into tomorrow, I want to take the time to review the school cancellation procedure for the Beverly School Community. Throughout an anticipated weather event, the Superintendent consults with the Beverly Commissioner of Public Services and others to determine if it is safe for students to travel to school. Safety of all students is the priority. If school is delayed/canceled, the Superintendent sends a Connect Ed voice mail message notifying you of a delay or canceling school. I aim to make the decision early (between 4:30 and 5:30 am). In addition, information on school cancellations or delays are available from the following radio stations, television stations, and websites: Television: WBZ TV Channel 4WCVB TV Channel 5WHDH TV Channel 7/CW/Channel 56WFXT Fox 25 Radio: WBZ 1030 AMWBOQ 104.9 FMWRKO 680 AM To assist us in keeping our students safe, please do not send your child to school more than thirty (30) minutes before the start of school on a delayed opening. Remember as parents, you always have the choice to keep students home when you believe it is too dangerous to go out. Working together, we can all look forward to a safe winter season." Sincerely, Suzanne M Charochak, Ed.DSuperintendent of Schools This press release was produced by Beverly Public School District. The views expressed here are the author's own.
