Description
WESTFIELD, NJ — Local artist Shirley Wallitsch is hosting a vibrant art exhibit in her Westfield gallery on Saturday, Jan. 8.
The exhibition at Wallitsch Art — 100 Elmer Street — will feature a selection of Wallitsch's paintings and is open to the public from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Originally from a small town in Wyoming, Wallitsch made her way to the east coast in her early twenties to study art, according to her website. She attended the Rochester Art Guild as a resident artist and then went on to study painting at the Art Students League in New York in the 1980s.
Her art is described as a "journey of exploration in color and technique" — or more specifically abstract expressionism.
To preview of some of her paintings, visit her website.
People who visit the exhibit must wear a mask. For more information or to schedule a private showing, contact Wallitsch at [email protected].
All paintings at the exhibit are for sale.
