By Newsline staff, Colorado Newsline January 7, 2022 Officials working on a Marshall Fire damage assessment in Boulder County on Thursday released an updated list of structures destroyed or damaged. The new tally also includes dollar-amount losses and features a searchable map of addresses. The updated list reports 1,084 homes destroyed and 149 homes damaged, amounting to a loss of $513 million. It also reports seven commercial buildings destroyed and 30 damaged. The value of commercial damage from the fire has yet to be calculated. Here is the breakdown: Louisville 550 homes destroyed 43 homes damaged $229 million in residential property loss 4 commercial structures destroyed 14 commercial structures damaged Superior 378 homes destroyed 58 homes damaged $153 million in residential property loss 3 commercial structures destroyed 14 commercial structures damaged Unincorporated Boulder County 156 homes destroyed 48 homes damaged $131 million in residential property loss 2 commercial structures damaged Authorities have said two people have been reported missing in the Marshall Fire. On Wednesday they reported that investigators discovered the remains of one adult, though it's unclear if the remains are one of the two missing people. The Marshall Fire started on Dec. 30 in an area, according to authorities, around the 5000 block of Eldorado Springs Drive, east of the Eldorado Springs community. The fire was propelled by winds of about 100 mph. It burned more than 6,000 acres. An investigation into the fire's cause is being conducted.
