High: 51 Low: 24. Here are the top 3 stories in Colorado Springs today: On Friday morning, the Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to a garage fire near Jet Wing Drive and Astrozon Boulevard. Crews say two people were home at the time of the fire — they were both treated for smoke inhalation and one person had minor burns. The fire department says the cause of the fire was "overloaded electrical." (KKTV 11 News)The Colorado Springs Police Department says officers took a man into custody after he was allegedly walking around with a gun and fired the gun at least once. At about 2:20 a.m. Thursday, police were called to the 3900 block of Donney Brook Court to conduct a welfare check on an "elderly male with dementia" who was walking around with a gun. After firing at least one shot, police were able to talk the man into putting down the gun and took him into protective custody. (KKTV 11 News)On Thursday, the Manitou Springs Police Department says they arrested a juvenile in connection to the threats made to the Manitou Springs School District in December. Police say the suspect was charged with two felony counts of Inciting Destruction of Life or Property, two felony counts of False Report of Explosives, Weapons, or Harmful Substances, and two misdemeanor counts of Interference with Staff, Faculty, or Students of Educational Institution.
