Press release from City of Fort Worth: January 07, 2022 New trail improvements are nearly complete at Rosen Park, the result of creative actions by members of the Park & Recreation Department. Following renovations at the Fort Worth Zoo, the Park & Recreation Department acquired multiple bridges that the zoo no longer needed. As part of a project to add new concrete trails to the park, one of the repurposed bridges was fitted with new composite decking and installed across a drainage swale in Rosen Park. "Rosen Park in District 2 is shared by the North Beverly Hills and the Far Greater Northside Historical neighborhoods," District 2 Councilmember Carlos Flores explained. "The trail extension and improvements better connect residents to park amenities and encourage healthy activities. I appreciate Park & Recreation staff working with my office to bring these needed improvements." The new 720-linear-foot trail provides much-needed neighborhood connectivity from 23rd and Capri streets and is ADA compliant. The entire project, from design to construction, was done in-house by the Park & Recreation Small Capital Projects Team for $40,000. The trail is expected to be ready for public use by mid-January.
