Description
TINLEY PARK, IL — A Burger King was robbed last month after video footage from the scene showed a person unlocking the door and walking into the restaurant after hours, according to police.
Police told Patch around $700 was taken from the cash register at the store's 18301 Harlem Avenue location on Dec. 19 after employees locked up for the night.
Employees told officers they locked the restaurant and hid the key under a garbage can before leaving. Police and Burger King management did not immediately respond to Patch's questions on if this was a standard practice for the store.
Security footage from the scene shows an unknown person getting out of a dark-colored sedan and unlocking the door to the restaurant at the time of the burglary. Police do not have anyone in custody in connection to the incident.
