Description

Our mate is the second-in-command on our ship, answering only to the captain and taking lead in the event of an emergency. They’ll need to know the exterior of the ship inside and out and take responsibility for repairing and maintaining equipment. And while their day-to-day responsibilities may center on the exterior of the ship, our first mate also needs to understand the overall safety regulations and navigation principles of each outing. Responsibilities: Working with the captain/owner to make and enforce orders Overseeing all loading and unloading of cargo Training and managing the crew according to the protocol Looking out for the safety and welfare of all onboard Assisting with emergencies as needed Assuming the captain’s role if necessary Maintaining deck log Managing submersibles Inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining equipment Fishing Necessary Skills & Qualifications: At least 3 years of experience on a qualifying vessel Experience working in a family environment, working one on one with owners Mechanically inclined / hands on experience highly desired High school diploma or equivalent Stable professional background Self- starter, leadership, and decision-making attitude Service-oriented Must know and follow all safety regulations No drugs, No alcohol, No smoking, No tattoos Physically fit, that likes sports fishing and diving
