JOLIET, IL — A 22-year-old Crest Hill man is now in the Will County Jail after Joliet police say Perry Page stole jewelry valued at more than $2,500 from the Piercing Pagoda store in the Louis Joliet Mall earlier this week. Page was captured Thursday when he returned to the mall wearing the same clothes during Tuesday night's crime, according to police. The retail theft inside Piercing Pagoda happened around 7 p.m. Tuesday. Joliet police said that Page had stolen over $2,500 worth of jewelry, leaving the store with the merchandise without paying. When officers checked the area, they couldn't find Page. Then, around 4 p.m. Thursday, Joliet police were called back to the Louis Joliet Mall "as mall security had located Page in the mall as he was wearing the same clothing as the day of the retail theft that occurred on Jan. 4," police reports show. Officers located Page outside the mall and the Crest Hill resident was placed into custody without incident. Upon search of Page, Officers recovered evidence of the retail theft from Piercing Pagoda, Joliet police announced. Page remains one count of felony retail theft. He lives in the 2300 block of Caton Crest Drive, according to jail logs.
