DAKOTA COUNTY, MN — There were 15 COVID-19 deaths in Dakota County this week, the county posted on its Facebook page.
The County posts weekly COVID-19 statistics updates on Fridays.
3,082 confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Dakota County this week, according to the post. Last week there were only 1,803 confirmed cases.
There were 59 hospitalizations in Dakota County this week, with three adult ICU staffed bed available and nine pediatric ICU beds available, the post said.
69 Dakota County schools are on the Minnesota Department of Health's list of schools that have had recent outbreaks of COVID-19.
The County shared the CDC's recommendation of wearing a mask indoors when the case rate is 100k is over 50 (it is currently 718). The post also states that the number of COVID-19 cases, deaths and hospital admissions are "high."
Minneapolis and St. Paul both reinstated their mask mandates this week, and a middle school in Burnsville transitioned to online learning.
