January 6, 2022 – Last story discussion "Harmony of the World" by Charles Baxter (1982) p.352 A failed concert pianist takes a job as accompanist to a flawed singer as the two try to connect January 13 – Film Discussion Love Story (Paramount 1970, 1hr 40 min) Classic award-winning, heartrending feature with Ryan O'Neal as the old-money Harvard man, Oliver Barrett III, who is smitten by a no-money Radcliffe music student, Jenny Cavilleri, played by Golden Globe Winner, Ali MacGraw. January 20 – Film Discussion The Loving Story (HBO documentary 2011, 1hr 17min) The 1967 landmark case of Richard and Mildred Loving, a mixed racial couple from Virginia, went to the US Supreme Court in this dramatic Peabody & Emmy Award-winning account with interviews of the couple and their ACLU lawyers. To view before meeting, streamed via hoopla or as DVD through the catalog. Optional added feature film, Loving (Focus 2016, 2hrs), moving and heartfelt, based on above civil rights documentary, Golden Globe and Oscar nominee.
