ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — A $10,000 reward is being offered for information about the freeway shooting that killed an Alameda County Sheriff's Office academy recruit earlier this week. The Deputy Sheriffs Association of Alameda County is offering the reward for "information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the killer" of 28-year-old David V. Nguyen. Read more: Remembering David Nguyen, Recruit Killed In Freeway Shooting Initial reports said Nguyen was driving on Interstate 580 West Tuesday night, headed home from the academy, when someone fired gunshots into his car. Nguyen's car crashed into a guardrail, and he was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The California Highway Patrol is investigating Nguyen's death.
