Hello! I"m a veteran seeking help from other vets who've used a VA construction loan to build a home...or anyone who might be knowledgeable in that area. After being fed up with a years long home search, I've purchased a piece of land. It just seemed like it might be cheaper to build and I might end up with something more appealing than what I've been seeing in the DMV for the limited amount of my VA loan approval limit. I am totally unprepared for the venture. Just so I'm not completely clueless, I'm asking for help and direction in regards to every step of the building process. I mean, from raw land to a finished home. I wanted to use a kit home, but it looks like there area few stumbling blocks. I'd appreciate any help and info in regards to surveying, engineering, perc testing, approved VA builders, wholesalers, land-scapers, etc. I kindly thank you in advance.
