Description
Have you participated in a clinical trial? Considered it? Want to learn more about how new treatments are developed? Maybe you’re just passionate about medicine, research, or helping others with health issues.
CISCRP is a Boston-based, independent, non-profit organization (501(C)(3)) dedicated to engaging the public and patients as partners in clinical research. We do this by:
- Educating and empowering patients, the public, and participants about clinical research and the important role of study participants
- Understanding and improving the experiences that the public, patients, and participants have with clinical research
But we can’t do it without help.
We are seeking reviewers to read & give feedback on summaries of clinical trial results. These summaries get sent to people who volunteer for clinical trials so they can learn about the results and other findings. All kinds of people volunteer for clinical trials, so summaries are written using plain (non-technical) language. CISCRP needs volunteers to review every summary we prepare because it’s important that information is clear, easy to read, and trustworthy.
There are opportunities to review materials on all kinds of topics - from cancer to COVID-19 to rare illnesses to the importance diversity and inclusion in clinical research, and many more. Reviewing a summary takes about an hour & is done entirely online. Compensation is available. No medical or science background needed.
We look for feedback from all kinds of folks – patients, family members, research professionals, advocates. Feedback from members of the BIPOC, LBGTQ+, and Hispanic/Latino communities is especially important.
