Public Works Laborer Specific Responsibilities • Operates moderately heavy equipment and performs maintenance of city parks • Services or makes minor adjustments to equipment • Maintain plants and trees • Performs leaf removal • Cut grass and uses weed eaters • Spends prolonged periods of time sitting, standing, walking, carrying, stooping and climbing • Perform general clean up around the job site. • Spends prolonged periods of time exposed to the elements • Perform roadside maintenance tasks such as trimming trees and clearing shrubs • Handles snow removal and storm debris cleanup which could be outside of regular work hours • Performs other duties and projects as assigned Minimum Requirements • Six months of park or facilities management, landscaping and grounds maintenance experience, including one year of supervised experience • Lifts and carries items weighing up to 70 pounds • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license Desirable Qualifications High school diploma or the equivalent Equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge and skills can be substituted.
