The Lenexa Public Market is heating things up for a perfect island escape. Break out your brightest Hawaiian shirt and flip-flops and "get away" to The Great Lenexa Luau! We will have prizes for the best Hawaiian-themed outfit. To add to the island ambiance we’ll have live music, themed food, and beverages. Pineapple Decorating Contest Turns out pineapples are more than just a controversial pizza topping — they are also great for decorating. Bring your own (decorated) pineapple to the Market to compete in our Pineapple Decorating Contest at The Great Lenexa Luau. Prizes awarded for the following categories: most creative, best character and most abstract. Audience will judge the pineapples. Check-in with your decorated pineapple at the event registration table between 5 and 6 p.m. Judging is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Winner in each category will be announced at 7:45 p.m. Free admission. No registration necessary. The Lenexa Public Market is an indoor food hall and marketplace near 87th Street Parkway and I-435 at Lenexa City Center. It features a variety of merchants that offer fresh foods and locally sourced products.
