Reston College Students Earn Accolades At Their Schools

RESTON, VA — Most college and universities ended their fall semester right before winter break. At that time, many schools announced various honors achieved by students during that academic term. Patch is taking this opportunity to share the achievements of college students from Arlington. Luke Stann of Reston was named initiated into Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society, at the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington. To be initiated into the honor society, a student must be a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate/professional student in the top 35 percent of their class. Nora Thomas of Reston, who is majoring in environmental studies in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Vermont in Burlington, was named to the school's dean's list. Thomas earned the honor by maintaining a 3.0 grade point average and being in the top 20 percent of her school. Anne O'Hara of Reston, who is an undeclared major in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Vermont in Burlington, was named to the school's dean's list. O'Hara earned the honor by maintaining a 3.0 grade point average and being in the top 20 percent of her school. Danielle Caneva of Reston recently completed her doctor of philosophy in leadership at the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky. The following students from Reston were named to the dean's list at the University of Maryland Global Campus for the fall term. Elizabeth Shaw of Reston, who is an anthropology major at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York, earned a dean's award with distinction during the spring 2021 semester. A graduate of South Lakes High School, Shaw earned that distinction by completing at least three courses during the term and receiving a 3.6 grade point average. James Daus of Reston, who is a computer science major at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York, earned a dean's award with distinction during the spring 2021 semester. A graduate of New School Northern Virginia, Daus earned that distinction by completing at least three courses during the term and receiving a 3.6 grade point average. Caroline Michaud of Reston, who is a political science major at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York, earned a dean's award for academic excellence during the spring 2021 semester. A graduate of Lexington High School, Michaud earned that distinction by completing at least three courses during the term and receiving a 3.3 grade point average.
