Herndon College Students Earn Accolades At Their Schools

HERNDON, VA — Most college and universities ended their fall semester right before winter break. At that time, many schools announced various honors achieved by students during that academic term. Patch is taking this opportunity to share the achievements of college students from Herndon. Tyler Stanley of Herndon was one of the 658 undergraduates to participate in fall 2021 commencement exercises on Dec. 11, 2021 at Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. Stanley earned a bachelor of intelligence and analysis. Noah Halterman-Mitchell, a sophomore student studying political science at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania, was one of 79 athletes to be named to the school's Academic Honor Roll for the fall 2021 season. A cross country runner, Halterman-Mitchell earned the honor by carrying at least a 3.40 cumulative grade-point average. Christopher Krush of Oak Hill was named initiated into Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society, at the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington. To be initiated into the honor society, a student must be a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate/professional student in the top 35 percent of their class. Danny Harkin of Herndon was one of more than 660 students who earned named scholarships last fall at Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio. A graduate of Oakton High School, Harkin is majoring in instrumental performance and earned the E.S. & M.R. Griffiths Scholarship.
