Press release from Fairfax County Public Schools: January 06, 2022 FCPS schools will be closed Thursday, January 6, 2022, with no virtual learning. School offices and central offices will open on time. Across Fairfax County, we continue to receive reports of roadways, sidewalks and pathways that remain unsafe for our students. Out of an abundance of caution, and the concern for safety of our students, all Fairfax County public schools will be closed Thursday, January 6, 2022. In-person and virtual learning are canceled. School offices and central offices are open with an unscheduled leave policy in effect. The following activities in schools and on school grounds are canceled: School age child care (SACC) centers are closed. COVID-19 diagnostic testing sites will be open for symptomatic students and staff.  Meal kit distribution will also continue as scheduled. You may wish to read FCPS messages in a language other than English. There are several ways you can receive or view our communications in a different language. eNotify Messages eNotify messages are the most urgent and critical messages FCPS sends. They cover topics such as bad weather, safety concerns, schedule changes, and other time-sensitive information. Every parent/guardian is automatically set up to receive eNotify messages. To indicate a language preference other than English for your communications via eNotify, please contact your school's front office. Find contact information for your local school in the Schools and Centers Directory.  Weekly Newsletter FCPS This Week is a weekly newsletter for parents/guardians and community members. FCPS This Week is also distributed in other languages to parents/guardians who have filled out the Home Language Survey form and selected a language supported by FCPS as their preferred language for communication. Home Language Survey forms are available in the following languages: Amharic | Arabic (العربية) | Chinese (中文) | Farsi (فارسی) | Korean (한국어) | Spanish (español) | Urdu (اردو) | Vietnamese (Tiếng Việt)  Website Our entire website (https://www.fcps.edu) is translatable. School websites are translatable too. Look on the upper left corner of every page, and you will see a row of flags. Choose the flag representing your language of choice, and a pop-up window will appear with a drop-down menu.
