OP/ Regardless if it was deliberate or not, Trumps speech/rally in Washington on Jan 6th was the catalyst that started the insurrection. Trump supporters (mob) went directly form the rally to the capitol. He told them to peacefully protest American law enforcement agents were beaten and killed by fellow Americans during the riot at the capitol. No one was beaten or killed by protestors. One person was shot and killed by a cop and they have covered up the facts and not charged him. We still do not know what happened. One of our sacred American institutions was breached and vandalized by angry Trump supporters. The cops welcomed them in and they were taking selfies with each other. Most telling fact of all- Donald J Trump, the then reigning president of the united sates did not lift a finger to try to end the violence. Despite pleas from his own staff to call an end to the violence, Trump sat in the oval office and took delight in the violence and destruction. This behavior is tyranny. This is the behavior of a wannabe dictator. This is not the behavior of a mentally well leader who has the best interest of this nation in mind. Trump authorized the national guard to be deployed. He can not send them in without the consent of the governor or the mayor of DC. They both declined his offer. Pelocy as speaker is in charge of protecting the capital. She refused Trumps offer.
