" The district will be operating on a delayed opening schedule for Friday, Jan. 7 due to forecasted inclement weather, and will continue to monitor the weather in case additional action is necessary," the notice said. The agency predicts 3-6 inches of snowfall in this region from 10 p.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Friday. Snowfall in the region could exceed 1 inch per hour late in the night, with snowfall expected to wind down west to east by sunrise Friday, which is slated for 7:21 a.m. The delayed opening comes on the heels of Monday's storm that at one point was predicted to bring up to 6 inches to Toms River and prompted district officials to declare weather closing. It left Toms River and the rest of the district with less than 2 inches of snow, according to the weather service.
