HAMDEN, CT — A parking ban will be in effect in Hamden, beginning at 12 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 7 until further notice, Mayor Lauren Garrett and Acting Public Works Director Matthew Kott announced.
The parking ban prohibits anyone to park, or allow to remain parked, any vehicle on any odd numbered portion of a town street or highway.
The ban further prohibits any person to allow or permit a vehicle to stand or park on any Town street or highway in such a manner as to constitute a hazard or obstruction to vehicular or pedestrian traffic. The Hamden Police Department is authorized, pursuant to Section 71.07 of the Code of the Town of Hamden, to remove any vehicle parked in violation of this ordinance. Such removal shall be at the risk and expense of the owner of the vehicle.
The Hamden Transfer Station will also be closed until further notice due to the weather and associated clean-up operations, according to officials. When available, additional details regarding the re-opening of the Transfer Station will be provided on www.hamden.com.
