HOUSTON, TX — C.E. King High School is no longer in a secure response and school resumed as normal after it was determined there was no threat at the school early Thursday afternoon, a Sheldon ISD spokesperson told Patch.
No weapon was found at the school, Sheldon ISD Communications Director Emily Conklin said.
Two bullets were found on the floor in a school hallway Thursday morning, prompting the secure response. A student was found to be the source of the bullets, and disciplinary action will be taken, Conklin said.
"We are encouraging families to talk to their children at home about appropriate items to bring to school," Conklin said.
All students are safe, and families have been notified, said Conklin, who clarified the secure protocol is not a lockdown.
A photo posted by a Twitter user who said it was taken by her daughter at C.E. King shows a line of police vehicles outside the school in the morning.
