Last fall, Cavil was cleared on a charge of disorderly conduct, which stemmed from a 2020 protest. (KCCI Des Moines)2021 was a record year for calls to the Des Moines Fire Department. The department handled 30,838 fire calls, an increase of 8 percent from 2020.
