PROVIDENCE, RI — With up to eight inches of snow in the forecast from Thursday night into Friday morning, operations at the state-run COVID-19 vaccine and testing sites will be affected. Outdoor sites will have a delayed opening to accommodate for the inclement weather.
TestingState-run sites generally operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Friday, outdoor sites will open at noon and stay open until 8 p.m. The following testing sites will be affected:
Cumberland Stop & Shop CCRI Warwick Parking Lot (new location) McCoy Stadium Pawtucket Stop & Shop Woonsocket State-run Test Site Anyone with a morning appointment scheduled will have it honored at any point later in the day.
The testing site in the Wickford Train Station parking garage and Pawtucket's Pre K-12 Pine Street site will operate during regular hours, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Rhode Island Convention Center test site will move indoors to the Dunkin' Donuts Center concourse for Friday only.
VaccinesThe vaccine clinic scheduled for the Providence Public Library downtown has been canceled. Anyone with an appointment will have it rescheduled to the Rhode Island Convention Center.
Friday will be the first day vaccines will be given at the Rhode Island Convention Center. There is limited availability, with more appointments next week.
