NORTHBROOK, IL β The roster for the U.S. Olympic Women's Ice Hockey Team has a Chicagoland feel to it, with five local players on the roster for next month's Winter Olympics in Beijing, China. Included on the roster is Northbrook's Jesse Compher, 22, who will be competing in the Games for the first time.
Compher is a 2017 graduate of Glenbrook North High School. Her brother, J.T. Compher, plays for the Colorado Avalanche in the National Hockey League.
The Northbrook Park District congratulated Compher on its Facebook page.
Other locals on the squad include: Savannah Harmon, of Downers Grove, Abbey Murphy, of Evergreen Park, Megan Bozek, of Buffalo Grove, and Kendall Coyne Schofield, of Palos Heights. Harmon and Murphy are also first-time Olympians.

She played collegiate hockey at Boston University. She represented the United States at the IIHF Women's World Championships in 2019 and 2021.
