Description
JOLIET, IL — Eleven years and two months after a Joliet brother and sister were shot in the 400 block of Joliet's Walnut Street, the man charged with committing those crimes finds himself in the Will County Jail.
On Tuesday, Luis Camacho, now 35 years old, was booked into the Will County Jail where he faces two counts of aggravated battery involving a firearm. Joliet police obtained a warrant for Camacho's arrest back in December 2011.
More than a decade ago, Joliet detectives determined that Camacho fled the Joliet area after the shooting, according to police reports.
Now, the long time fugitive from justice is back in Will County.
Camacho's bail remains at $350,000.
When he lived in Joliet, Camacho was in the 300 block of Youngs Avenue, on the city's east side, jail records reflect.
