Feed Storage Operator/Delivery Truck Driver – No CDL Required A dairy, located outside of Sun Prairie WI, is in need of a Feed Storage Operator/Delivery Truck Driver. This is a full-time entry level position and is responsible for delivering and maintaining silage on the farm. The position is Monday through Sunday but time off is flexible. Computer skills and truck driving experience are a plus but not required. Must have a valid drivers license. Equipment and farm experience is a plus but willing to train the right candidate. It is an outdoor work environment exposed to hot and cold climates as well as snow and rain. There is some heavy lifting involved must be able to lift up to 50ibs. There is also maintenance on equipment and trucks involved. So being mechanically inclined is also a plus. There is no CDL requirement for this position. There is a possibility for growth for the right candidate. Must be able to speak, read, and write in English. Must be a good teammate and work well with others. Face, load, and transport the feed to the Feed Center as directed by the Feed Center Manager. b. Manage and assist with storing feed in bunkers and silage pads. c. Ensure the feed storage area is kept organized and cleaned. d. Follow farm policy for the amount of silage to be uncovered at any one time. e. Ensure bunker plastic is properly cleaned and recycled. f. Monitor feed quality and dispose of spoiled feed. g. Ensure equipment is maintained and in safe operating condition on a daily basis. h. Inform the Feed Manager the amount of refusal collected from the straight truck driver, on a daily basis. i. Fill in for Feed Delivery Truck Driver when needed. j. Ability to operate and control a variety of heavy agricultural equipment, including but not limited to, tractors, excavators, pay loaders, skid loaders, and harvest and tillage equipment. k. Ability to work outside in all types of weather l. Bilingual preferred, but not required m. Dependable and punctual n. Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and commercial driver’s license Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to lift/move at least 70 lbs. on a regular basis, work in extreme conditions, and operate machinery, heavy equipment and tools. This position requires operating agricultural equipment. Physical Activity: The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs.
