APPLY HERE: Position Summary: Veit has an immediate opening for an Industrial Paint Shop Lead in Rogers, MN. This role performs industrial painting/sandblasting and oversees daily operations of the paint shop with an emphasis on building and maintaining relationships with external customers. Daytime hours. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs industrial sandblasting, painting, and graphic design duties. Manages paint shop inventory and orders supplies as needed in the most cost effective and efficient way. Supervises a small team of painters/sandblasters. Manages the scheduling and work assignments of the paint shop team’s projects. Ensures paint shop output and work performed is of high quality to ensure both internal and external quality customer service. Builds and maintains external relationships to maintain current external customer base while continuing to grow service market. Creates electronic estimates for potential work performed. Works to maintain profitable margin while maintaining quality output. Prepares invoices for external billing on work completed. Keeps supervisor informed of known actions, written or verbal, which may affect the ability to successfully perform assignments or adversely affect Company operations. Completes special projects as assigned by management. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to five years of related industrial sandblasting, painting, and/or graphic design experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Technical college or trade certification is a plus. Ability to comply with safety precautions and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with management, employees, vendors, customers, and other business associates. Must have good interpersonal skills. Ability to consistently deliver high-quality products. Willingness and ability to learn software programs including Microsoft Office, HCSS, and Collision Estimating Software. Ability to consistently meet attendance expectations and paint shop deadlines as required by management and/or dictated by project & customer requirements. Dependability is a must. Supervisory Responsibility: Manages the scheduling and work assignments of the paint shop projects and personnel. Reviews and approves timecards. Other: Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be able to work 8–10-hour days (up to 12 hours per day during peak periods) Physical Demands: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by any employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Able to work extended hours (up to 12 per day) during peak periods. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those employees encountered while performing the essential functions of this job. Most often in a shop environment. Employee is exposed to environmental conditions, working near machines and loud noises associated with construction sites. Employee is exposed to loud noise, dust, and fumes. Exposed to variable weather conditions including rain, snow, wind, cold and heat.
