Join us for a young professional's fundraising social at the Haven's new (still under-construction) home. Proof of vaccination/negative COVID test required, as well as masking. KN95 masks to be provided at the door. Attendance is capped at 35 and RSVP required. Doors open at 5:30, program begins at 6:00. Who is Rose Haven? Rose Haven is the only day shelter and community center specifically serving women, children, and gender-diverse people in Portland. As night shelters are at capacity, our low-barrier drop-in model bridges the gaps in services. For many, we are the first step in asking for help and starting to heal. Rose Haven supports our guests in becoming healthy and productive members of the community. Despite serving >3,500 guests annually, Rose Haven has operated out of a 3.5k sq ft basement since 2007. Demand for services has increased throughout the pandemic, with even more women and families in crisis, experiencing domestic violence and no where to safely shelter. Last year, we signed a lease on a new space which will triple our capacity and double current service hours, allowing us to bring guests back indoors, reestablish programs, and increase our ability to serve more community members in need. To support this new space, Rose Haven kicked off a $3M campaign - Home for the Haven.
