Description
Your goal: Finding a preschool/school you can work with to help your child thrive Understanding a school’s educational approach will help you see beyond a label (public, Common Core, Montessori, faith-based, gifted, etc.) to what your child’s learning experience would truly be at that school. This event will be hosted virtually. The link will be emailed to all registered attendees a few days before the event. Join Bellevue Discovery’s Founder & Education Consultant, Ren Cedar Fuller, to learn about educational philosophies. In addition to founding Bellevue Discovery, Ren's experience includes speaking at conferences and leading professional development. She provides educational consulting to current and alumni families and leads parent education events in the community as part of Bellevue Discovery's nonprofit mission. Bellevue Discovery is a non-profit preschool for highly capable children. With a 1:4 teacher-child ratio, our caring and experienced teachers value each child, build a community of learners, and differentiate class activities to meet each child’s needs. The most important thing for preschoolers is to feel safe and loved. Our Teaching Team and Early Childhood Specialists find joy in creating a safe, nurturing environment where children will grow and thrive. Since 2007, Bellevue Discovery Preschool has focused on social-emotional development, supporting executive function and kindergarten readiness skills, and helping young children build friendships. Our teachers and families work together to surround our preschoolers with challenge, enrichment, and love. Highly capable children have a different way of thinking: they need less repetition, love to learn, and are fascinated by complexity. Following best practices in gifted education, Bellevue Discovery offers an Inquiry Learning curriculum, combining play-based exploration, skill-based instruction, and in-depth project-based learning. 88% of Bellevue Discovery’s alumni students have moved on to gifted programs.
