Description
Louis Cappelli Jr. and Dominic Vesper Jr. will be honored at our Recovery for Life Gala! Maryville Addiction Treatment Center will present its Recovery for Life Gala on April 1st at Tavistock Country Club. Proceeds from the gala will benefit Maryville’s mission to provide comprehensive, high-quality drug and alcohol addiction and co-occurring treatment services for individuals and families affected by the disease of addiction. This year, Maryville will honor Louis Cappelli Jr., Camden County Commissioner Director and Dominic Vesper Jr., Camden County Deputy County Administrator, for their work on the Camden County Addiction Awareness Task Force. This task force was created in 2014 and is charged with increasing awareness of prescription opiate and heroin abuse and addiction, aimed at reducing the demand for heroin and prescription drugs. Under their leadership, the task force provides community education and training, as well as innovative programs aimed at transforming lives. Highlights of the Camden County Addiction Awareness Task Force’s work over the last several years include Operation SAL (Save A Life), which facilitates swift admission to inpatient treatment and supports after an overdose; Project Save, which offers treatment instead of incarceration for non-violent substance use related arrests; Recovery, Encouragement, Athletic League (REAL) Sports, which offers various sports activities as a safe outlet for those in recovery; the Remembrance and Hope Memorial at Timber Creek Park; multiple street outreach initiatives; peer support services, sober living assistance; and more. You can read about these and other initiatives at https://www.camdencounty.com/service/mental-health-and-addiction/programs-and-services/. Maryville is proud to recognize Mr. Cappelli and Mr. Vesper for their commitment to combatting addiction in Camden County.
