The Austin Area Urban League invites you to join us on February 11, 2022 for a night of music featuring local Austin artist Andre Taylor.
The Soul of the City series is a monthly concert designed to highlight local artists in the Austin metropolitan area. Serving drinks, light hors d'oeuvres, and one-of-a-kind music from underground artists, this night will be one to remember.
About the Artist: Andre Taylor
Born in Greenville, Mississippi, Andre Taylor began his musical journey at an early age with his mother Marilyn Cosey Banks, where she helped develop his musical ear by challenging him to harmonize with her and other musicians. This is also where Andre developed a love for Jazz, Soul, R&B, Funk, Gospel, and Classical Music which makes his style of singing so diverse. In his career, Andre has been fortunate enough to work with local, national, and international artists of all genres. He has been the opening acts to such artists including, Lenny Williams, The Hamiltones, Bobby Valentino, Raheem Devaughn, John P. Kee, Ricky Dillard and New Generation Choir.
Andre has also done background vocals for artists such as Diana Ross, Letoya Luckett, Ruben Studdard, Mali Music, Rapper Too Short, Paris Bennett, Alesia Lani, Jackie Venson, Karen Clark Sheard, Ernest Pugh, Joshua Rogers of Sunday’s Best, Alexis Spight of Sunday’s Best, Myron Butler, Candy West, Nikki Ross, Deon Kipping, Chrystal Rucker, and many other artists. Andre has also been apart of various groups and choirs in the Austin Metro area as well as various plays and production.
Andre Taylor debuted his first single “FSTOW" in February 2020, followed by his second single “No Beg" in April 2020. Available now on all digital platforms.
