Learn how to marble your own set of notecards with Jennie Andrews! These are perfect for a friend or significant other this Valentine's Day. Join us for an introduction to paper-marbling. We will learn a technique that uses oil paint to create beautiful marbled patterns on paper to make a lovely set of notecards. You will learn a little about the history of paper-marbling as well as how to prep your paints, water and paper. Then you will have lots of time to practice and play! You will take home a full set of your own marbled cards and a matching ribbon to keep or to gift. Paper-marbling is the ultimate relaxing art and is perfect for beginners, but more experienced artists will also love playing with this technique. Jennie is an artist and DIYer with work featured on HGTV and Food Network as well as a content-creator and crafter for the HGTV Handmade YouTube channel. Jennie can often be found with a drill in her hand tackling DIY renovations in her 1940’s bungalow or making a giant mess in her art studio. She describes her style as a little quirky and a whole lot colorful, and firmly believes in the power of glitter. The Inventor Center is the new makerspace opening in Kingsport March of 2019.
