Celebrate 2022 with health and wellness in the great outdoors! Join BPAC, Blue Bike SC, and The COMET on a leisurely bike ride at Riverfront Park. Bring your own bike or grab a Blue Bike SC bike. Blue Bike SC will provide a promo code for all participants. Limited bikes available – First come, first served. Location: Meet us at the Riverfront Park Blue Bike station - 312 Laurel St About BPAC: Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee members advise the City of Columbia Transportation Planning team, City Council Members, the Mayor and community organizations and partners on bicycling and pedestrian issues facing the city and to work toward the implementation of the Comprehensive Plan: Walk Bike Columbia and any subsequently adopted bicycle and pedestrian plans or policies and to represent community and constituent interests in transportation planning decisions faced by City Council. About Blue Bike SC:Blue Bike SC is the City of Columbia’s premier bike share system and is sponsored by BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina and The COMET. Its mission is to provide equitable access to bike-share that fosters mobility, recreation, and personal wellness. The system is managed by the City of Columbia and Bewegen, who oversees the supply, installation, and ongoing operations. 18 stations have been installed to date reaching the neighborhoods of downtown Columbia and the entertainment districts. The Blue Bike program is a direct result of the Walk Bike Columbia Master Plan and the associated Bike Share Plan initiated by the City of Columbia’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC).
