Van Sykes possesses an incredible gift for storytelling and he’s been sharing bbq stories his whole life. Van is the host with the most! Each year the festival grows with support of the community and  sponsors. Patrons come from all over the Southeast.  Since 2010,  the festival has provided funding for local Alabama charities including Childrens of Alabama, Ady’s Army, Bessemer Education Enhancement Foundation, Hands On Birmingham, Clay House and Latch and Live Foundation.  The festival has been chosen for numerous years as one of the top food festivals in Alabama.  There are activites for the entire family of all ages.  Children twelve and under are free with a ticketed adult. Besides great music the festival offers a variety of booths including arts and crafts, outdoor exhibits, legendary Bob Sykes Bar B Q, and a diverse selection of vendors selling tempting offers. The festival is a great way for businesses to promote their brand and company in front of thousands. Bob Sykes Bar B Q is a family owned local tradition since 1957. Bob Sykes has been the benchmark for others to match for true southern barbecue.
